The Kootenay Storytelling Festival Society promotes the art of storytelling in the Kootenay Region of British Columbia through an annual storytelling festival in Nelson and by helping to bring storytellers into local schools. Our 2013 inaugural outreach program of the Kootenay Storytelling Festival was a resounding success, nurse reaching 7 schools and over 600 students across grades 1-12 in English, ailment French Immersion, click and French programs. We had more requests than we could fill – please book early to make sure that we can get an artist into your school! This September, in conjunction with our festival, we are again offering schools and communities the chance to book one (or more!) of these nationally and internationally acclaimed artists at a subsidized rate.

Our School Outreach Program provides subsidies to Kootenay schools that bring in festival artists.

Further subsidies may be available to schools that book more than one artist during that period.

For more information or to book an artist at the KSF subsidized rate, please contact us.
